When To Pull The Plug

There comes a time when, regrettably, a relationship must end.

The question is when to do this?

Ultimately, you and only you know the answer to this question. There are things you can ask yourself to determine if you should pull the plug such as:

  • Am I living in fear rather than love?
  • Has my partner cheated on me?
  • Am I living a lie rather than the truth?
  • Is my relationship abusive?
  • Is the relationship no longer in the beginning where the most happiness is?
  • Do we spend more time arguing than loving?
  • Has the sex dried up the like the Sahara desert?
  • Do you need to take breaks from your partner for the relationship to survive?

If you discover and realize that there are things in your relationship that are separating rather than uniting you with your partner, then you don't have love. You have an illusion that you are in love.

I always find it a bit strange when couples need to take a week or two break to be away from each other. I hear all the excuses under the sun including "we just need time apart". Why would people in love want to do this?

It's time to pull the plug on a relationship when your relationship is pulling you apart rather than closer together.

Love isn't about separating. Love is about uniting.
